Doula

Hello! I'm Trisha, I am a mother of 3 children ages 24, 10 and 8. I currently serve all of the Boston Metrowest area! I love to cook, crochet, and am generally up for anything I can do with a coffee in hand!

My mission is to meet families where they are at and empower them to be autonomous, confident, joyful and satisfied with their pregnancy and postpartum journeys. I want to be a part of the all-important “village”, Loving, encouraging and helping my clients at every stage!

I approach maternal care with a “love first” mindset. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, what your age, nationality, beliefs or background is: I will love and support you first! I believe that even the most minor acts, when done in love, make the most significant impact on the world.

I am truly grateful for every family that invites me to witness them grow, and should you invite me to be a part of your story, it would be an honor and a privilege to be by your side.

  • Keep your Doula up to date on how you're feeling/if you notice any changes.

  • Contact your Doula at the first signs of labour; bloody show, loss of mucous plug, contractions (ie: cramping), and/or waters breaking.

  • Contact your Doula to confirm the arrival of your baby and to set a start date/time for services.

  • Be aware of weather conditions and do your best to contact your Doula with enough time for them to arrive given those conditions. Your doula will do the same!

  • Communication with your Doula and other support people is important to ensure everyone is able to support you when you need them!

Frequently Asked

Questions

01. What will postpartum support shifts look like?

The first postpartum shift will help me get an idea of your unique support needs! I encourage my clients to make a list of what their priorities are and I take care of the rest! Some things I can help with are light housekeeping, meal prep, breast/chestfeeding support and newborn care!

02. What if family members are visiting and want to help?

Family support is so valuable! It is your choice if you want my visits to overlap with your family time. If you like I can help you prepare a list of practical things you can suggest to family members who want to lend a hand! I am comfortable working with your family around as well!

03. What if my baby has special medical needs? Can you help?

While I am not a doctor, home nurse or a pediatrician, I can offer support with daily tasks you might otherwise be doing yourself! I always do my best to be informed about my clients and their babies special needs and can commit to supporting where I can and am comfortable and referring out where I can't/am not.

04. Am I able to leave the house during a support shift?

My role as your doula is to provide an extra set of hands and eyes while you focus on recovering and adjusting to life with your newborn! I do not offer to babysit while you are not in the home.

05. Can I still contact you down the road with questions?

Please do! New parenthood can be overwhelming at first and I would love to be able to steer you in the right direction if ever you feel unsure.

One four-hour shift (any time of day) on your first day home with your new baby. I will meet you upon your return to home from the hospital or birth center (or when the midwives leave your homebirth) to help you settle in—prepare a meal, finish setting up your home, tidy, do laundry, run out for needed supplies, provide lactation or sibling support as needed. Must be arranged and paid in advance. Contact me when labor begins.

solid start

investment: $1600

10, 4-hour shifts (40 hours total) over one month (3x/wk for two weeks, then 2x/wk for two weeks). Timing can be adjusted to fit your individual needs.

Trisha will provide support throughout your early postpartum time, to include non-judgmental, listening and emotional support to process the birth and challenges of early parenthood, lactation and newborn care development education and support, care for your newborn so you may rest, shower, etc., meal preparation and light household tasks, perinatal mood and anxiety disorder assessment and resources referrals. My goal is to help your postpartum time go more smoothly, enhance physical recovery from birth and facilitate bonding with your newborn.

overnight support

investment: $350/8 hours

All-night presence to enable a family a full night’s rest, knowing that your baby is well cared for and supported. When bottles and pump parts are incorporated into the nighttime routines I wash and assemble all pieces and leave everything organized and ready to use. The overnight care I provide benefits not only the new mother but the entire family. Hours are 10pm-6am, but can be adjusted.
